The Apple exec behind the product design of the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods is leaving the company, according to Bloomberg.
Tang Yew Tan, vice president of iPhone and Apple Watch product design, will leave Apple in February Bloomberg reports, citing anonymous sources. Tan currently reports to Apple’s senior VP of hardware engineering, John Ternus.
The move comes amid a broader restructure of Apple’s product division, according to Bloomberg.
Richard Dinh, iPhone product design lead and one of Tan’s direct reports, will answer directly to Ternus after Tan leaves. Kate Bergeron, who previously oversaw Mac teams, will take over Apple Watch design.
Tan spearheaded the design of Apple’s AirPods and other acoustic devices. Matthew Costello, who oversaw Beats and the HomePod, will take over those responsibilities.
The move comes after reports surfaced on Wednesday that another key Apple exec who helped invent Face ID and Touch ID, Steve Hotelling, is retiring.
Apple did not immediately respond to The Messenger’s request for comment.
