Hit the jump for all that and more in the latest 9to5Toys Lunch Break.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 ban goes into effect today, but it’s not too late to score yourself the rugged flagship wearable with blood oxygen tracking ahead of time – all without paying full price. Amazon has just about every style of Apple Watch Ultra 2 on sale for $749. That includes styles with Ocean bands, as well as both Alpine and Trail loops. Each one is down from the usual $799 price tag to match the third-best price to date. It’s rare to see every configuration marked down at once, and now you can save $50 right before the clock strikes the eleventh hour and Apple has to roll out its redesigned styles without the blood oxygen features.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 arrives as the second-generation rugged wearable from Apple with a few upgrades over its predecessor. Everything rests within the same elevated case as before, with a more distinct side module that encompasses the usual Digital Crown, as well as a secondary, customizable action button to round out the form-factor adjustments. There is the new S9 chip at the center of the experience, which also happens to power the new pinch gesture recognition tech for one-handed interactions. If hiking, snowboarding, or any other more dedicated workout is on your to-do list for 2024, then Apple Watch Ultra 2 is sure to help monitor your health along the way.
It’s worth noting that existing Apple Watch Ultra 2 aren’t going to be effected by Apple’s redesign strategy for the blood oxygen features. New models won’t have the tech enabled, but any unit sold here ahead of time is going to keep access – including one of the best Apple Watch Ultra 2 deals like we found above.
Amazon is now offering the latest M2 Mac mini for $499. It drops from the usual $599 price tag to save you $100, a discount that also finds itself matched over at B&H. Both are matching the lowest price in over a month, while returning to the second-best discount we’ve ever seen. The elevated 512GB SSD model is also on sale at $690, down from its $799 price tag. We detail what to expect from the experience in a hands-on review.
Apple’s M2 Mac mini refreshes a beloved form-factor to feature its now previous-generation in-house silicon. So while this isn’t powered by the new M3 chip, it does mark the latest release from Apple in the lineup. There’s that same compact build that has made previous versions so popular amongst first-time Mac owners, as well as streamlined workstation users and homelabbers alike. The improved performance of the M2 chip also pairs with dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, a pair of USB-A slots, an HDMI output, and Gigabit Ethernet. You’ll also find Wi-Fi 6E, and at least an 8-core CPU backed by a 10-core GPU and at least 256GB of storage.
Amazon is marking down an assortment of Apple’s official Alpine Loop Apple Watch Bands. Compatible with both the Ultra wearables and 45mm Series 9 devices, pricing now starts at $74 across several colorways and sizes. Each one drops down from the usual $99 price tags in order to mark the lowest starting price we’ve seen. For comparison, the last discount was $84 over the holidays, and now you can save an extra $6.
Sporting a unique rugged design that weaves together two layers of woven fabric, the Alpine Loop is designed for Apple Watch Ultra but also works with the larger of Apple’s standard 44 and 45mm wearables. The stitch-free look uses high-strength yarn to deliver on the unique top loop look with a corrosion-resistant titanium G-hook that slides into place for securing to your wrist. Head below for more.
