Late last month, renders claiming to be that of the Apple Watch Series 10 shows that the smartwatch by the bitten fruit brand will be getting a screen upsizing. Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has corroborated this in the weekly Power On newsletter, saying that the next generation smartwatch will have a screen size that’s reminiscent of the Ultra variant.
In the newsletter, Gurman claims that there will be two variants of the Apple Watch Series 10, codenamed the N217 and N218. Both are said to come with bigger screens while also being thinner despite looking familiar otherwise, a claim that has been made back in August of last year. Mentioned is the choice for potential buyers to “pick a screen that’s about as large as the one found on the Apple Watch Ultra”, though it’s not especially clear if this applies only to one or both of the variants.

As you’d expect, the Apple Watch Series 10, as well as the Ultra 3 which won’t be getting a redesign, will be getting a new chip that “could lay the groundwork for some AI enhancements down the road”. This doesn’t mean getting full access to Apple Intelligence though.
Also being mentioned is the possibility of a new Apple Watch SE model, which would feature further cost-cutting measures than before. Possible changes include using a hard plastic shell rather than aluminium. One reason for this is to that it can compete in price with the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE. While it’s local pricing has not yet been revealed at the time of writing, is has a US$200 (~RM942) price tag attached to the Bluetooth model. The Watch SE, last updated in 2022, has a RM1,199 asking price.
